The fine Arts department is starting a new tradition this Christmas. Our elementary students will be creating Crismons ( Christian Ornaments) The ornaments will hang on a tree in the lobby during the holidays. We have a tree, but we are in need of the following items to get started this year: gold glitter, gold thread, mod podge, stiffened white felt sheets. Students will begin making these ornaments right after Halloween. Please contact Mrs. Pociluyko with any questions or donations.

Elementary Halloween Traditions at Holy Cross School
All of our ghosts, princesses, presidents, ninjas, astronauts, and other costumed students will parade around our front sidewalk at
12:30 on October 31st while parents ready their decorated trunks full of treats for the students. After the parade, grades will take turns visiting the spooktacular trunks, pinning the nose on the witch, or trying to bite a donut hanging from a string with no hands! As always family members and special friends are welcome to join us as we celebrate!

Shoe Drive through November 8
Elementary is sponsoring a "Shoe Drive" starting Monday, October 14th and ending on November 8th here at Holy Cross. We will be collecting USED footwear, (casual, dress, boots, sandals, etc.) in an effort to recycle and help third world countries. A box will be placed in the front foyer where shoes can be deposited during school hours. The shoes will be collected at the end of the school day on Friday, November 8th. Please consider cleaning out your closets as you put away your summer clothing. These shoes can be in ANY condition as they will be repaired before shipping.
Community Helpers
Third grade visited Madison Heights Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 23, and helped pack 101 bags of food for the church's weekly ministry project. Before heading to the church, they visited Walmart and shopped for items for the ministry. Each group had a certain amount to spend so they also got lessons in Math and Economics as they rounded prices and tried to get the best deal. Thanks to the parents who were able to come along.
