Dear HC Families, Now that the school year is in full swing, we would like to launch our online RenWeb Directory for families to have access to contact information for other families. We all can use this RenWeb source as our directory this year versus a paper version.
We plan to launch this access on Tuesday, October 15. If you have any concerns or do not want to allow contact information to be accessed by the Holy Cross community, please email Mrs. Fran Harvey with a request to opt out of this service. Please note that access will only be for Holy Cross families, teaches and staff -- no access will be given to the greater community outside our school.
If we do not hear from you by October 14, we will assume that you are content to be part of our online directory and we will include you in the process.
Many thanks,
Patti Culbreth
Principal
World Food Day Holy Cross will be participating in the 2013 Catholic Youth World Food Day in a special way. Pk-12 students, faculty and staff will assemble around the pole at 8:00 on Tuesday, October 15th (when the Middle School and High School Bell rings). The Senior Class will lead the student body in a short prayer service. Bracelets commemorating the event will be given out to homeroom teachers. Students are encouraged to wear the bracelets as a sign of support. An optional minimum donation of $1.00 will be collected by Homeroom teachers October 7th - 17th. All donations will be given to Cross Catholic Outreach and will be used to help end hunger. Any student, Faculty and or staff member, making a donation of $1.00 or more, will have a Jeans Day on Thursday, October 17th. Participants are encouraged to wear a Holy Cross Shirt and their bracelet as a sign of unity with their jeans.
The Holy Cross School Key Club has committed to making peanut butter and jam sandwiches for the Daily Bread each week! We are in constant need of cash donations and the following: creamy peanut butter and grape jam [not jelly, since jam spreads better]. These sandwiches will be handed out to Daily Bread guests as they leave after lunch so they have something nutritious for dinner that night. This is such a simple, yet powerfully important way to make a difference in the lives of the hungry in our community. Please help us if you can. Contact Pam St. Angelo [Key Club Moderator] if you have questions or would like to help us with this mission. st.angelo_p@hcrs-va.org Stay tuned for more exciting news from the Key Club at HCS!!
