Dear Holy Cross Community,

It has been a true pleasure to be a part of this wonderful school for the last two years.  It's always a privilege to watch children grow spiritually, emotionally and intellectually, and the children of Holy Cross are like no other I've ever worked with.  Their genuine smiles, their sincere words and thoughtful gestures fill our halls each and every day.  I thank all of our parents for the wonderful support you give our school through your valuable time, talent and treasure.  You truly are a very talented group!  And finally, what would Holy Cross be if it weren't for our absolutely incredible faculty and staff whose dedication to your children is foremost in each of their days.  They sincerely love your children and provide them with the best tools to help them be successful in their educational journeys.

Thank you all for the opportunity to work with you and to serve you.  I will miss you all and I will always keep Holy Cross close in my heart.

With peace and blessing,

Amy Lawson

Flu Vaccinations
Holy Cross Regional Catholic School and the Virginia Department of Health are once again teaming up to bring the flu vaccination here to Holy Cross.  Complete information will be arriving in your mailbox soon.

Holy Cross Uniforms

This is a friendly reminder that all students must wear proper uniform attire to school each day unless it is an authorized free dress day. The Holy Cross polo shirt must have been purchased through Flynn & O'Hara, our authorized uniform provider, or our used uniform sale.  Polo shirts that don't have the appropriate Holy Cross logo (old or new) are not considered appropriate uniform pieces.   If you have questions regarding our uniforms, please see the school's website or the Parent-Student Handbook, pg. 21

Have you gotten your Scrip?
Great Lakes Scrip is a great way for you to purchase shopping cards to places you go each week and earn money for the school!  Visit glscrip.com and click on the tab  order.  You will see all of the participating businesses like Walmart, Regal Cinemas, and Starbucks.  Jot down the cards and amounts you would like to order.  Write a check for the total to HC Scrip and send it with your list of businesses in each Monday.  Cards are (usually) here on Friday.  You get the full value of the card and our school gets a percentage return.  What could be easier?  If you have questions, contact our scrip coordinator, Colleen Sites, at mickeymouse4keen@gmail.com

Holy Cross Gaels Spirit Week is September 16-20!  Students may celebrate Spirit Week with the following dress-up days

            Monday - Favorite Team Day

            Tuesday - Pajama Day

            Wednesday - Twins Day

            Thursday - Crazy Clothes Day

Friday - Green & White Day

The Holy Cross Regional Catholic School Homecoming games will be held as originally scheduled on Friday, September 20On that day we will have the Homecoming Pep Rally from 2:17 to 3:10 and operate on an Afternoon Assembly Schedule.  At that time we will 1) announce teams; 2) announce Homecoming Court (selected in advance by student vote); 3) have one or two simple pep rally event (TBD).

The Homecoming Dance (grades 9-12) is Saturday, October 5, 8:00 to 11:30 pm.  This change is made due to our international students and their hosts being out of town on September 21.  Permission forms (including dance guidelines) will be distributed to Homeroom teachers early next week.  Cost per person is $10 (due with permission slip).

By nearly unanimous decision of Seniors and Juniors, the dance will be formal OR semi-formal and will be held in the Cafeteria.  Students are not expected to rent a tux or buy formal evening gowns.  DJ is Tyrone Garland.  He needs play list from students (clean songs and line dancing) one week in advance (by Friday, September 27).

This year's theme is "Nautical."  Class representatives to communicate with Mr. Washington are Tom Bruzek, Colin Baker, Lanie David and Glenn Trent.
