Please join us for Morning Prayer with Communion on Tuesdays at 7:40 in our school chapel.  This Tuesday, morning prayer will be led by Fr. Jim Gallagher as Deacon Cartwright will be on a well-deserved vacation.

A NEW TEACHER at HOLY CROSS!
Welcome to Mr. Adam New, our new elementary PE teacher who joined our faculty this week.  Mr. New will teach our elementary students on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Please welcome him to our school community!

INTERIM DIRECTOR OF ENROLLMENT AND MARKETING
We are pleased to announce that Deirdre Serio will serve as our Interim Director of Enrollment and Marketing. Deirdre is a parent of a former Holy Cross student and often volunteers in our library.  Deirdre comes with a wonderful skill set in marketing, writing, website design and management.  Now launching her own business, Deirdre's most recent post was serving as the General Manager of the Lynchburg Symphony.

Amy Lawson's last day will be Friday, September 13.  Amy and her family are relocating to Charlotte, NC, and we wish her well!  Amy has made wonderful strides for Holy Cross, and we appreciate her initiative and insights.  Please be sure to share your best wishes with her.

Holy Cross Uniforms

This is a friendly reminder that all students must wear proper uniform attire to school each day unless it is an authorized free dress day. The Holy Cross polo shirt must have been purchased through Flynn & O'Hara, our authorized uniform provider, or our used uniform sale.  Polo shirts that don't have the appropriate Holy Cross logo (old or new) are not considered appropriate uniform pieces.   If you have questions regarding our uniforms, please see the school's website or the Parent-Student Handbook, pg. 21

Innisbrook
orders are coming in but we need yours, too!  Keep selling and help our school.  Use Facebook, Twitter, email, and more to give out our school code- 105349.  If you would like to send in your orders for us to enter, please do!  Thanks!

How Can YOU Help Your School Earn Money?
Visit our school website-hcrs-va.org   and check out the PTO page under the Parents tab.  You will find all of the ways you can earn money for your child's school just by doing all of the things you do each week like shopping or going to the movies.  It is so easy and makes such a difference!

Don't Forget to Give With Target

Help our school get free money from Target!  You can go right to our HC page for voting if you go to
http://givewith.target.com/school/33928
We now have over 200 votes ($200) but need your help to get more! Remember, you can vote every week!

Have you gotten your Scrip?
Great Lakes Scrip is a great way for you to purchase shopping cards to places you go each week and earn money for the school!  Visit glscrip.com and click on the tab  order.  You will see all of the participating businesses like Walmart, Regal Cinemas, and Starbucks.  Jot down the cards and amounts you would like to order.  Write a check for the total to HC Scrip and send it with your list of businesses in each Monday.  Cards are (usually) here on Friday.  You get the full value of the card and our school gets a percentage return.  What could be easier?  If you have questions, contact our scrip coordinator, Colleen Sites, at [email protected]

NEWS FROM THE LIBRARY

Around the world day

Elementary students celebrated reaching their summer reading goal with "Around the world day" on Friday, Sept. 6th. During the event, students participated in games and crafts, and tasted snacks from different countries. Stay tuned for pictures in next week's E-Crossette. A special thanks goes out to all of the parents, grandparents and friends of the school who volunteered for the event, and/or donated items. Holy Cross families rock!
