My Dear Holy Cross School Family,
I write this letter to thank each of you for the wonderful out-pouring of love and friendship you gave me at the beautiful retirement party. It was so special, and I shall always remember it. Visiting with former students, parents, grandparents, fellow teachers, and friends, was indeed beyond words. All the food, side dishes, and entertainment were nothing but perfect, too. Amid the rain outside, we certainly had an extraordinary, memorable day inside. Thank you!
But most of all, I thank each of you for sharing your children and your families and friends with me over the twenty-six years I have taught at Holy Cross School. What a joy it has been for me! I have loved teaching the four R's, with Religion being my favorite each day. Again, memories of each of you will always remain in my heart and soul.
Thank you so, so much, and may Christ continue to bless each of you and hold you in the palm of His hand,
Mrs. Sharon Schemmel
New & Used Uniform Sale is scheduled for Wednesday, July 10th from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
As of this summer, all new Holy Cross uniform pieces purchased through our provider, Flynn & O'Hara, will have the new logo.
Students may still wear items with the previous Holy Cross logo as part of their school uniform.

Elementary Field Day Thanks!
Field Day was a great event in spite of the rainy weather! Students enjoyed snow cones and a bounce house provided by our wonderful PTO. They played games and ran relays in the gym after enjoying the tradition of the Maypole presented by 5th grade and Mrs. Shenigo. Due to the very active Elementary Student Government led by Mrs. Laneve this year, students received field day T-shirts! Hotdogs and chips were enjoyed by all and special thanks go to Mrs. Laneve for her organizing and shopping prowess! As always, our field day general, Ms. Elmore, got our day organized with activities and securing the great help provided by our high school students. We couldn't do it without them.
Middle School May News:
Lock-In: A SUCCESS
After the Bridging Social, things were "changed up" this year. 8th grade loaded into a limo while 6th and 7th grades filed into two buses and off to Fort Hill Bowling Alley they went. After pizza and two hours of bowling, they came back to the school for a night of movies, gaming, and sports. The children had a fun and safe evening which would not have been possible without our many volunteers.
Thanks to the following who stayed for at least one shift: Monica Casker, Stephanie Sanchez, Darlene and Ed Eichmann, Stephanine Raso, Maureen O'Connell, Ann Shenigo, Ronnie Burton, David and Mary Dumonsau, Monya Manion, Pat Rony, Sally Leslie, Becky Driskill, Wendy Golden, Browyn Harvey, Terry Mooney, Jane Trent, Leslie Matthews, Doug Washington, Kim Combs, Carol Key, Greg Casker and Kandy Elmore.

High School Students:
Girls on the Run of Central Virginia is looking for Junior Coaches, ages 14
and up. We have many teams throughout the Lynchburg area that need young
energy to add extra fun to the already fun lessons and to mentor our young
GOTR girls. If you are interested in being a Junior Coach, please contact
our office or Mary Hansen. You will be trained at our Coach Training
Seminar in August. Junior Coaches work with the Head/Assistant Adult
Coaches with the lessons and running activities. They must have
transportation to and from the sites they will be Coaching. There will be
one team at HCRS in the Fall with only limited Junior Coach opportunities.
If you can go "off-campus" there will be many more opportunities. Junior
Coaches may participate in either the Fall or Spring Season or both. Your
schedule is your only limitation. Running Buddies are also welcome!
Parents:
Each Fall Holy Cross Regional School hosts a Girls on the Run Team. This
tradition will continue IF we have two volunteer Coaches to lead the girls
through the 12 week, 24 lesson program of fun activities, valuable life
lessons and overall positive youth development! For more information on
becoming a Coach for Girls on the Run, please contact Mary Hansen at
