FROM THE ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT:

NO LEAGUE CHANGE PLANNED FOR NEXT YEAR

Dear Holy Cross Community,

Thanks to all who shared their opinions about a proposal to change athletic leagues for the 2013-14 school year.  The majority of stakeholders suggested we move to the VACA League; however, we will NOT make this change for next year.

After asking members of the VACA League for consideration, we learned that we would not have the appropriate number of votes from the League to join.  According to their policies, their votes are completely confidential, so we do not know the reasoning behind the lack of votes.  We have learned that the entire VACA membership votes on league membership and not just local schools who would be in our region and who would know us best.

Thank you again for taking part in an important dialogue for our community.  We will enter the 2013-14 Athletic Season with great enthusiasm as we stay proud members of the VIC and BRC for the foreseeable future.

Thank you for your continued support of our GAELS!

     Patti Culbreth, Principal

     Tony Mitchell, Athletic Director
