Dear Holy Cross Families,

With a cool nip in the air, we are reminded of the coming winter months.  Let me take this opportunity to remind you of how the school will notify you in case of a school closing, late opening or early dismissal due to weather conditions.

  • The administration will do its best to determine as early as possible if the school schedule must be altered.
  • Once a decision has been reached regarding a school closing, early dismissal or late opening, families will be alerted to the change via our RenWeb Parent Alert System.  This system calls the number listed in your contact information in our RenWeb system.  (This would be a good time to revisit the contact information through your parent portal to be sure all numbers are updated.)
  • School closings/alterations to the schedule will also be posted with WSET-13.
  • In addition, we will broadcast any schedule changes with the following radio stations:  WROV-FM, WJJS/WJJX-FM, WSNV SUNNY-FM, WSFF/WSNZ STEVE-FM.

Thank you for your continued support of the school.

God Bless,

Patti Culbreth

2012 World Food Day on October 16

Holy Cross School will be participating in the 2012 Catholic Youth World Food Day in a special way.  Pk-12 students, faculty and staff will assemble around the pole at 8:00 on Tuesday, October 16th (when the Middle School and High School Bell rings). The Senior Class will lead the student body in a short prayer service.  Bracelets commemorating the event will be given out to homeroom teachers and students are encouraged to wear the bracelets as a sign of support.

An optional minimum donation of $1.00 will be collected by Homeroom teachers October 16th - 18th.  All donations will be given to Cross Catholic Outreach and will be used to help end hunger.  Any student, Faculty and or staff member, making a donation of $1.00 or more, will have a Jeans Day on Thursday, October 18th.  Participants are encouraged to wear a Holy Cross Shirt and their bracelet as a sign of unity with their jeans.

This Prayer Service will replace the October 31st Rally Around the Pole.
