Video summaries added to Forum research releases

When the Forum released its report on culture and recreation in Waukesha, Ozaukee, and Washington counties in late February, it accompanied the report's release with a video that summarizes the report's findings and policy insights. The Forum plans to complement all major report releases with such videos.

"We have found that many Forum followers

don't always have the time to read our full reports immediately upon their release, but we also know they are interested in learning about the key findings, particularly after they have read about the report in the newspaper or heard one of our researchers discuss it on the radio," says the Forum's Data and Technology Director, Jeff Schmidt. "These videos give our members and friends the opportunity to get a brief report summary that they can watch at their convenience."

In addition to video summaries, the Forum is adding more content to the report web pages. The pages will now include, along with the full report and video, the executive summary as a stand-alone document, the press release, and a link to the accompanying blog post. The Forum also will be updating the pages with related media coverage.

The expanded research roll-out package reflects a concerted effort by the Forum - as reflected in its recently completed strategic plan - to enhance the dissemination of its research by packaging its reports in ways that will be more attractive and easily digestible for citizens.
