Forum in the News

  • The Show Must Go On? - the Forum's comprehensive analysis of possible cultural and entertainment funding options in Greater Milwaukee - received front page coverage in the March 14 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and also received prominent coverage in the Milwaukee Business Journal, BizTimes, WUWM news, WUWM's Lake Effect and the Shepherd Express. The report also was the subject of an editorial in the March 16 Journal Sentinel, a panel discussion on Wisconsin Eye, and a live chat on JS Online on March 19.
  • The Forum's report on the quality ratings of afterschool providers in Milwaukee County was the subject of a story on WUWM's morning news on February 26. The report also received extensive coverage from the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service on March 18.  
  • A Greater Milwaukee Committee panel discussion on Getting to Work, the Forum's analysis of possibilities for enhancing bus service to suburban job hubs, was covered by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Milwaukee Business Journal, and Urban Milwaukee in early February.
  • Forum President Rob Henken's op ed piece drawing comparisons between the New York City debate about admissions fees for the new 9-11 memorial and the arts/culture funding debate in Milwaukee was published in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Sunday Crossroads on February 2. 
  • Forum President Rob Henken was part of a panel discussion on Milwaukee's cultural and entertainment assets that was taped at the Forum's headquarters and broadcast on Wisconsin Eye on January 31. Tim Sheehy of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra President Mark Niehaus were the other panelists.
  • The Forum's effort to facilitate intergovernmental cooperation among Milwaukee County and its municipalities with regard to voting machine purchases and programming was covered by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on January 13.
  •
