New FaHN Report on Regional Food Security: "Helping to Create Hunger Free Communities"

Hunger is a reality for 1 in 5 children in South Central NY. Despite a decrease in overall rates of childhood food insecurity from 2009 to 2012, in many counties the percent of food insecure children is still nearly double the rate of all residents.

These and many more findings are presented in a new report on hunger released by FaHN. "Helping to Create Hunger Free Communities" highlights trends in each of the eight counties the Food and Health Network serves. It also highlights examples of organizations and individuals helping to create hunger free communities throughout the region.
