Congratulations to 8th Grader, Austin K.  He won the Physics Division at the Orange County Science Fair and will be representing Fairmont at the California Science Fair next week!

Austin also won a Special Award from the

Raytheon Asian Pacific Association.

Lunch on Us!! You are invited to our Annual Hot Dog Bar-B-Que Luncheon. To celebrate this year's re-enrollment season, please join your student and all of our Fairmont families for hot dogs and chips! Everyone is welcome to eat with their children at the times below:

11:30am     P4, Seventh and Eighth Grade
11:45am     First Grade
12:05pm     Second and Third Grade
12:15pm     Sixth Grade

All families re-enrolled by 6:00pm Tuesday, April 16 will have their names entered into the drawing. The drawing will be held and winners will be announced during the Hot Dog Lunch Celebration.

"Once Upon A  Javabucks" was a huge success.  The actors were funny and delivered their lines with perfect comedic timing.  The singing was entertaining and showed the truly wonderful talent that our Junior High has!
 
New Afternoon Extended Day Check-In
Starting on Monday, March 25 your child's teacher will be walking all of their students to the grade level extended day room at the end of the school day.  This will expedite the pick-up process as all students will be checking in with their extended day counselors.  Students will be checking out the library, computer lab, sports, extra-curricular activities, tutoring, etc., and the extended day counselor will now be able to help locate your child more efficiently.
 
Parent Surveys Coming Soon  
We look forward to hearing your feedback in our annual parent survey! This year, we have opted to run our surveys a bit later in the spring and to use a new survey provider to make the process more streamlined. Please look for more communication regarding the survey in the upcoming weeks.

Student-Led Conferences

Fairmont Private Schools and other schools around the country are leading the charge on a new style of conferences that are student-led. We introduced Student-Led Conferences  this month with wonderful, positive comments from parents, students, and teachers.  We encourage you to participate in your child's conference if you have not done so already. 

Student Led Conferences help put students on "center stage" and take more responsibility for their academic achievement, self-discipline, and physical well-being. Student Led Conferences reflect the belief that students should be actively involved in their learning and assume responsibility for the learning process. We look forward to seeing you at the Student Led Conferences to celebrate your child's growth and learning!
