• Vacuum regularly. This helps to prevent soil, dust and dirt from pentrating and embedding itself into the pile. 
• Professionally clean your carpet every 12-18 months 
• Use the highest setting when vacuuming soft carpet - beater bars are too aggressive. 
• Always treat a spill immediately.  
• Occasionally move heavy furniture. 
• Invest in blinds and shades, to prevent direct sunlight damage. 
• Invest in a high quality pad - they have the ability to add longevity to carpet 
• Use scissors to snip snags - don't pull.
