Using our Direct Jet 1024UVHS printer, RIP 9 with the new add-on ADA Module and our InkMark™ UV Metal and Acrylic substrates with a matte finish, you can easily design and print your own ADA-compliant signage. DCS further offers users the unprecedented option of either first-surface or second-surface graphics when creating raised-texture signage on acrylic substrates. Standard 6"x8" signs can be output in less than 6 minutes, with a full digitally printed background, raised letters and Braille.

DCS also offers a new UV Acrylic Adhesion Promoter. This promoter has been specially formulated to work with many acrylic pieces that do not have the InkMark™ UV print-receptive surface, allowing users to print directly to many acrylic products. ADA-compliant prints, whether on InkMark™ substrates or standard products with adhesion promoter, exhibit the same outstanding durability as you've come to expect from our Direct Jet UV LED line.**

* While the components of the ADA signage, produced on Direct Jet 1024UVHS printers, have tested to be in compliance with federal USA ADA signage guidelines outlined in the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design (Department of Justice - September 15, 2010 - www.ADA.gov), it is the responsibility of the signage manufacturer to ensure compliance with the governing local, state and federal authorities.

** All substrates should be tested for image receptivity, adhesion and durability, with final acceptance and suitability determined by the customer.

When an operator inadvertently strips the threads for the head replacement screws, or improper use of solvents leads to softening of the plastic in the print head carriage, replacement heads cannot be held reliably in a fixed position. This condition will lead to poor print quality and potential errors. In the past, this would have required a carriage replacement or even a print engine replacement. To alleviate this situation, DCS has engineered a print head "Stabilizer Bar." Please see adjacent images of the part by itself and after installation in a print head carriage. Direct Color Systems recently exhibited at the FESPA 2013 trade show in London, United Kingdom. FESPA is one of the largest printing shows and is held in countries all over the world, including Mexico, Turkey, Germany, South Africa and China. DCS captivated attendees with a newly designed EAA tradeshow booth, courtesy of Rui Carvalho, Direct of Sales for EAA, which highlighted the Direct Jet 1024UVHS printer perfectly.

The TEXTUR3D™ printing capability of the UV system drew attendees into the booth, and learning more about this unique feature kept them intrigued. On display were UV print samples on a wide variety of substrates, showing potential customers and distributors from all over the world how amazing this technology truly is. Carlos Achando, EAA Service and Support Engineer — along with employees from CSI, a distributor of DCS products throughout the UK — exhibited and promoted the products while Matt Sands, Software Development Analyst and Technical Sales, was performing on-demand demonstrations to accentuate the simplicity of file setup and reveal the high-speed capabilities of the UV product line.
