(October 16, 2013, Springfield Township - Hamilton County, OH) What started as a dream scratched on a Post-it note, can now lead to a $25,000 grant for the Springfield Township Arts and Enrichment Council (STA&EC) with your help. The note, written by Arts Council Chair, Kimberlee Flamm, and entered into a contest with 3M's Post-It brand Facebook page was selected as one of fifteen national finalists from thousands of entries. The finalists were asked to create video about their dream, where Facebook users can now vote.

With only two-weeks notice to create a video that depicts the dream, the STA&EC members created a concept, rallied over 20 resident volunteers, secured a location, and formed a team of local videographers to see the project through. "In my eyes, the creation of the video was a masterpiece of collaboration," commented Flamm. "Everyone worked so well together in sharing ideas and talents. I truly believe in our dream, now even more so."

The video features a little girl collecting dreams of individuals written on Post-it notes. The final scene reveals the combined dream of building an Arts and Events Center in Springfield Township.  Even with the award, the dream will be several years in the making for Springfield Township, but could one day serve as a regional attraction for arts and entertainment and provide a catalyst for further economic development. The vision is part of the community master plan that defines a "Core District" for Springfield Township. Ideally, an Arts and Events Center would replace the 65+ year-old Grove Banquet Hall, and would then be centrally located within the proposed Core District. In it's concept form, the building would provide ample space for public and private events, a venue for theater, gallery space, classroom facilities, and privately rented studios. Additional collaborations between private and profit organizations would need to be formed to complete the business model.

Three winners of the Post-it Facebook contest will be announced and awarded $25,000 to help make their dream come true. Guests of the Post-It facebook page are asked to "Like" their page and enter into the Dreams For Good contest page. Guests may vote once a day from October 16th - November 16th. The final award will be determined by a panel of judges and through online voting. The independent judges will be awarding points for creativity, if the project is doable, and for the number of people the dream impacts. Winners will be notified December 10th.
