(SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Hamilton County, Ohio, May 20, 2013) Children can beat the heat this summer by spending Monday afternoons creating artwork, having fun, and making friends! The Springfield Township Arts & Enrichment Council is hosting an all NEW Summertime Kids Art Camp for kids ages 7-12. The three-hour camp will be held on Mondays from 1-4 pm at the Springfield Township Senior & Community Arts Center. With support from the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, camp fees have been reduced from $135 per session to $120 per session! Each session consists for four Mondays. Two sessions will be offered, however space is limited to 15 students per session.

The first session, "Mini Masterpieces," runs every Monday from June 10th - July 1st. In "Mini Masterpieces" students will create artwork inspired by famous artists. Each Monday a different artist, style and artistic media will be introduced. For example, the first week students will create acrylic paintings on canvas inspired by the artwork of Wassily Kandinsky. Other artist inspirations will include Vincent Van Gogh and Alexander Calder using pastels, silk, inks, and clay.

The second session, "Creative Crafts," runs every Monday from July 8th - July 29th. Kids will get messy and create unique and functional items to take home. "Creative Crafts" will include Tie Dye (and Beyond!), Wacky Bird Houses, Amazing Clay Mugs and Puppet-Making. Join us for all of the fun and none of the clean-up as your crafty kid creates!
