Get Busy with Serving G-d

Yiras Shomayim shares:

Judging by the e-mails, I see that you are catering to a crowd of frum Yidden of all types: Yeshivish, Litvish, Chassidish, etc, and you bring a lot of Divrei Torah from all different sources, whatever can help people.

The Shita of Chabad is "Hesach Hada'as", i.e. don't focus on it (the obsession or temptation), and switch interests and get into Avodas Hashem. Once a person is involved in Avodas Hashem, and Kabolas Oil Malchus Shomayim, and that becomes what he truly wants in life, automatically he loses interest in the dirt and becomes disgusted by it, to the extent that months and even years can go by and he has almost 'forgotten' this struggle. He may not even need any chizuk because he is not interested anymore, rather he is disgusted by it. It becomes a distant vague memory.

Only when he becomes slack in his Avoda, does this struggle come back.

From personal experience I know this is true. Boduk u'menuse.

(Of course, once it has become an addiction, it requires real help, which GYE caters for. I am speaking for those who are a step before that).

I Got Rid of My Facebook Account. What About You?

By D. S.

Well, Guard, I did it! I deleted Facebook. People are so suprised! Why would you delete Facebook??? WELL, I DID IT!!!!! Yayayyaya! I waste so much time there. Of course, the pritzus, and shmutz, and also the immediate gratification of getting a notification.

I started the deleting process (it takes 2 weeks) about a week and half ago, and though I still can retrieve Facebook until Friday, I won't, because I have been able to accomplish sooo much lately!

I feel like I have been taken out of my own personal mitzrayim. Sometimes, I went on Facebook for hours on end, and afterwards I would feel like death. Even worse than after I act out! I've always been checking it as well, so it controlled me. I was enslaved. Now I feel FREE!!!!! It feels so good.

Baruch Hashem!

Yes, Guard, I'm ready, too!
