Our June Lunch & Learn webinar spotlighted the Atrial Fibrillation Consensus Document published by the North American Thrombosis Forum (NATF). Lead author Christian Ruff of Brigham and Women's Hospital was on hand to answer questions along with AC Forum board members Scott Kaatz, Terri Schnurr and Sara Vazquez. Society of Hospital Medicine Launches Online Toolkit,

Free CME Webinar Series

The Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) has developed new online resources for the prevention and treament of VTE. The resources include a downloadable toolkit of 15 short articles designed to be quick reads for the busy hospitalist, a four-part CME webinar series, and a five-minute training video on discharge strategies. AC Forum board member Scott Kaatz was the lead editor for the toolkit and narrates the training module; fellow board member Allison Burnett joined other experts as contributing editor and host of one of the webinars. 

The online resources are available free to SHM members and nonmembers. CME credit is available for the webinars, which will be online until May 31, 2018.

HTRS Research Award: Deadline Extended

The Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research Society (HTRS) is offering Mentored Research Awards in 2017 to fellows or junior attending/junior faculty pursuing clinical or basic science research in hemostasis and/or thrombosis. Candidates must hold an MD or DO and be within seven years of completing their fellowship. The deadline for pre-proposals has been extended to Friday, July 22, 2016. Read more at
