ALL FIRED UP
Yeah, we are all fired up. It's riding season.
On May 1st we celebrated our 14th birthday, and we are now into our 15th year selling and servicing the finest motorcycles and scooters on the planet, Ducati, Triumph and Vespa. The weather has finally broken and we are looking forward to our first group ride of the season this Sunday.
We want to wish you all a wonderful, safe and healthy riding season. Here are a few quick tips as you head out on the road:
- Remember we are all a little rusty at the beginning of the season, ride within your comfort zone.
- Wear your gear: Helmet, Jacket, Gloves and ankle-coverage Boots -- minimum.
- Remember that cars are not used to seeing us. Please, take nothing for granted and ride defensively. Expect the auto driver to do the wrong thing.
- Check your tire pressure!
- Perform a thorough pre-ride check on your machine.
- Get your head in the game before you ride.
- Watch out for road debris and sand. There is still plenty of it out there on the roads.
- Your favorite roads have probably changed and degraded over the winter. Ride every road like it is your first time on it, even when close to home.
- Enjoy the heck out of every ride!
Below are a few snippets that come to my mind about our dealership as we embark on another season. My friend Tom Hicks, at SOCAL, calls them tidbits, but I don't want to copy him, so snippets is the word.
SERVICING YOUR MACHINE
Here at Great Bay we are in an excellent position to take great care of you and your motorcycle. We are committed to proving that we can provide you and your machine with an excellent service experience. We have the staff, the equipment, the tools and the knowledge to make certain your motorcycle or scooter receives the best of care.
TALENT
Our service department features a couple of outstanding technicians. Mike Archambault, our lead technician is well versed in Ducati and a total professional. He is a Level III Certified Master Technician. He has been to the latest Ducati update training available this winter and received part of his training on site at Ducati HQ in Italy. Ducati has sent Mike to work in the pits at both Laguna Seca and Indianapolis to support their Moto GP efforts. Yes, Mike is the real deal and we are proud to have him working on our machines.
Joshua White is entering his second year with us in the service department. He is also a true professional, has been extensively trained as is trained, and receiving his Level II certification. Joshua knows motorcycles and lives to ride and work on them.
Randy Pawlyk is our Service Department Manager and has been working in a Euro dealership for over 17 years. Combined with his over 30 years of riding experience you can be sure this man understands motorcycles. Randy will be taking off this Sunday for some advanced training at Triumph headquarters in Atlanta. He is also very enthusiastic about the Triumph 1050 Speed Triple he acquired over the winter.
ENTHUSIASM
We are all street bikers and we spend most of our time on the street. This means that we have the knowledge and experience to speak in the language most of you speak, that of street bikers. Sure some of us have raced and we still do track days, and we can certainly speak on that level as well, but like most of you we ride on roads. We commute, we evening ride, we Sunday ride, we group ride, we use our machines for transportation, and we ride for the sheer pleasure of riding.
EXPERIENCE
We have sold and serviced a mountain of motorcycles in the past 14 years. We are here standing strong because all of us embrace what we do as motorcyclists. Virtually every one of our staff members is a passionate rider, from Jim Clarke in our parts department on his Street Triple R to Kenneth Stevens out back washing bikes with his Honda Shadow, we all ride and we all honor motorcycles.
PASSION
It is in our blood and we can't escape it. We are passionate about this industry and passionate about riding motorcycles.
So, when I think of Great Bay Motorcycles, our customers, our staff, and our excellent brands, I get all FIRED UP!
That is it from the deck.
Ride Safely and Ride Hard,
Don
