In 1937, PNWA (then the Inland Empire Waterways Association) had been in operation for three years. That same year, more than 8,000 bananas were imported through "Banana Terminals" on property that was later purchased by the Port of Seattle to develop Terminal 5. At the same time, 1.8 million boxes of apples were exported.

Mike Ott selected as NWP Channels & Harbors Operations Project Manager  

 

Mike Ott has been selected as the Operations Project Manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District's Channels and Harbors Project.  Mike has done tremendous work in the Portland District since arriving in 2000 as a Student Intern and progressing through assignments as a Hydraulic Engineer, Project Manager and most recently as the Chief of Waterways Maintenance Section. He brings extensive experience and is sure to excel in this role as well. PNWA congratulates Mike and looks forward to working with him in his new position!
