PNWA members and colleagues tour John Day and Little Goose Dams
In March, PNWA members and colleagues were fortunate to have the opportunity to tour several dams on the Columbia Snake River System. On March 6th, our group visited John Day Dam to see the lock and even took an elevator to the top of the project to get a bird's eye view of the dam. On March 18th, we took a tour of the Little Goose Dam, including the power house and dewatered lock. At both locations, staff from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers provided updates on the 2014 routine maintenance closure and highlighted the features of the projects.
PNWA thanks the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Portland and Walla Walla Districts for offering this amazing experience for us. We also thank our members and congressional colleagues who were able to join us for the tours.
