It's Not Time for a Gold Watch, but...... Time does march on, doesn't it? Six years ago when I joined United Way, I had no end-date in site for my retirement. I just knew I was "back home" at an organization I had respected, known and loved for many years -- and one which I had been a Board Member of nearly twenty years before. Anyhow, the time has come, and my years as an employee of UWCC will come to an end on April 30th. I am planning to spend more time with my husband, children and grandchildren; look for ways to volunteer in the community (yes, even at UWCC!); read more; get more exercise; travel more; and, and, and..... So, the search is on for a new Director of Communications. Take a look at the details of the job (scroll down to the bottom left of the page) and send applicants our way. The deadline for submissions is February 25th, and we 'd like all applicants to send three writing samples along with a resume and a letter of interest. The clock is ticking! Thanks everyone, Bobbe Maynes

UWCC and UVM College of Medicine Team Up for Public Health Projects Again This Year
United Way of Chittenden County and the University of Vermont School of Medicine recently celebrated their ninth year of a collaboration connecting UVM medical students with Chittenden County nonprofit agencies to work on public health service-learning projects.
Building on leadership skills learned during their first year and using practical research methods, students work with faculty and community agencies to find creative ways to put science into practice and learn more about community public health issues.
The Public Health Projects study important issues that affect people of all ages, and may inform health care policies. Every year these students impress us with the enthusiasm and expertise that they bring to their
work for nonprofits in Chittenden County. Our congratulations to the students, nonprofit staff and faculty advisors for another successful year.
