The Sun Ray Nature-Smart Library (SPPL) project won Environmental Initiative Community Action Award. The project, developed in partnership with the Children & Nature Network, brought together community organizations, youth leaders,& project partners to build & sustain urban greening efforts and educational outreach in the Conway Park neighborhood of St Paul.
Each year the Minnesota Association of Library Friends (MALF) recognizes original ideas & innovative projects created by Friends with the Evie Nordley Award. Any Friends-supported project is eligible for consideration, provided project implementation began after Jan 1 of the preceding year (in this case, 2015). Examples include print publications, programming events, membership drives, fundraising campaigns, & digital initiatives.Applications for the 2016 Evie Nordley award are due by Friday, June 17.
