  • Visit the new Video ELM site to hear stories from staff in Minnesota libraries, library systems, & statewide organizations like History Day highlighting the importance of ELM resources in their daily work & lives. You can submit a story, too. Each story added helps promote ELM's usage & awareness.
    To add your story, go to Video ELM & simply click on the large plus sign, follow the prompts, & consider the three questions below the videos in your recording.
  • Still time to apply for Teen LIt Con transportation awards. TLC 2016 posterMetronet/MELSA area schools can apply for up to $350 per district to hire transportation to get students to Teen LIt Con on May 7 at Sibley HS. Details & application. You may apply even if you have received an award in past years. 
  • Metro area teachers & media specialists can order posters & bookmarks for Teen Lit Con 2016. Orders must be received by Feb 29. Order here.
  • Minnesota Institute For Early Career Librarians from Traditionally Underrepresented Groups. Learn more, including application process, here.
  • The organizers of the Lake Superior Libraries Symposium (LSLS) invite breakout session proposals for the fifth annual conference to be held on May 20 at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. This year's theme "NOW That's What I Call Libraries!" celebrates the inspiring, bold, & creative ways libraries are meeting their patrons' needs.   • Save the Date! PLD Day 2016 will be held on Wed, May 4, at the Water Street Inn in Stillwater. Talk about trends in Minnesota public libraries, diversity & equity work around the state, & other exciting projects. Watch for more details & a call for proposals soon.
  • The 28th Annual Spotlight on Books Conference will be Apr 8-9 at Chase on the Lake in Walker. There will be workshops, author talks, lightning rounds & more for adults interested in youth literature. Find the program & registration here.

  • Save the Date! Minnesota Digital Library Annual Meeting is Tue Jun 7. Continuing Education and Conference Center University of Minnesota - St. Paul Campus. The keynote speaker will be Greg Cram, Associate Director of Copyright & Information Policy at the New York Public Library.
