- Power Up: Libraries: Earlier this year, the White House selected Hennepin County Public Libraries to participate in a new challenge: to build partnerships between public libraries & their local school districts. Watch this video to learn about

- Hamline University and Archives announces that Amy Sheehan has been appointed to the role of Associate University Librarian. Amy began her library employment at Hamline in 1996, working part-time evenings and weekends. Over the succeeding 19 years Amy has steadily contributed to the evolving research and instruction services the Bush Library offers to students and faculty.
- MALF named Barbi Byers the 'Library Friend of the Year' at the 2015 Minnesota Library Association Conference.

Take this opportunity to be up close & hands-on with the ELM databases. $30 includes morning snack, lunch, & handouts. All library staff & teachers welcome. Register.
- Personalized Learning Spaces with the Brain in Mind will explore how personalized learning experiences directly correlates with a student's and a teacher's growth mindset. Examine how personalized learning and its spaces can support a variety of pedagogical and brain-based instructional approaches. Nov 14-15 at Chaska HS. Registration: $259 before Oct 30 then $279 individual. Teams of 5 or more are $239/person
- The Minnesota Department of Education, through a partnership between State Library Services & the Office of Early Learning, has created bookmarks & posters you can use to help promote family engagement practices that support early literacy and reading well by third grade. Minnesota public libraries, school libraries,& early learning organizations may request bookmarks and/or posters.
