Hello My Friends,
What a happy coincidence - Father's Day and the first day of summer (scheduled to be 90 degrees today in Basalt!). My father, who every summer gave a talk "The Philosophy of the Green World," would be so happy to see, on this first day of summer, how lush and green our world is thanks to the abundant rains of April and May. As for Father's Day - well every day is father's day for me - creative, charismatic, omnipresent chap that he was.
As we roar into summer, I want first to assure everyone that I am finally back to fighting fitness - a couple of new joints (replaced without the aid of the smokeable kind) and some time away with relatives, friends and two big city fixes (D.C. where I went to university back in the burn your bra days of the late 1960's and NYC).
What's new at the Gallery? Silver Queen Minerals, a business that shares a corner of the Gallery and is owned by my sister-in-law, and Toklat are teaming up to have a series of Wednesday evening programs at the gallery on the mining and minerals of Colorado. Below are details of the first two and after that a brief description of the remaining seven.
