Please note that due to unavoidable scheduling conflicts, our January 2013 meeting will take place today, 24 January, at 1900 hrs., instead of the regular third Thursday of the month.
This rescheduling as an opportunity to assess our flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing circumstances. As part of Team Coast Guard, we drill when we can, all that we can, so that, in a real emergency, what we do is familiar and reliable. This includes the Everbridge drill conducted several months ago and "surprise" meetings. Saying "in a real emergency, I'll be there" doesn't cut it with the admirals, and shouldn't cut it with ourselves. Therefore, I encourage everyone to attend this rescheduled meeting as a drill, as though we need to plan or stage an emergency response.
At the meeting we will have brief tutorials of (i) the online Aux Officer database for looking up the contact information for other Auxiliarists and updating your own contact information, and (ii) the online 7029 form for logging non-mission hours.
The Aux Officer database can be accessed at https://auxofficer.cgaux.org/auxoff/, and the online 7029 form can be accessed at http://webforms.cgaux.org/.
The deadline for logging 2012 hours is fast approaching, so please tally any unentered hours you may have, and remember that hours for a flotilla meeting include preparation for the meeting, travel to and from the meeting, and the meeting itself.
Thanks and regards,
