Greetings!
The Canbury Arms are pleased to announce our latest wine tasting and dinner event. Ralph Hochar of the world famous Chateau Musar estate in Lebanon will be joining us on 22nd November at 7.30pm.
Ralph's uncle, Master winemaker Serge Hochar, makes wine in the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon for the family estate, Chateau Musar. Viticultural roots in Lebanon go back over 6000 years, while Musar is planted to grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignane, and Cinsault, some of their vines' origins, like Obaideh and Merwah, may be traced to the Phoenicians. The region, and the winery, has frequently been scarred by wars and conflict and whole vintages have been lost to Middle East strife - through all of it Musar has thrived; if anything its reputation is greater now than it's ever been.
Charlotte Dean of Wined Up Here will also be on hand to discuss the wines with you and orders can be placed with her for wine purchases. The menu will consist of delicious Lebanese specialities with 4 courses to pair with the 6 wines we will be tasting.
Tickets are £40 per person
