Established in 2001, the Indiana Corn Marketing Council (ICMC) is a farmer-funded organization with the mission of enhancing the value of corn for Indiana corn farmers. The Council is led by a board of 17 farmer-directors who are elected and charged with overseeing the investment of state corn checkoff funds.

To advance its vision for Indiana agriculture, ICMC has developed a strategic plan focused around priority areas needed to grow the Indiana corn industry. Activities revolve around market development, production research and farmer services in the following areas: Ethanol, Infrastructure, Livestock, Exports, Grain Handing and Processing, Production Research, Sustainability, New Users, and Consumer Education.

As the nation's fifth largest corn producer with good transportation infrastructure and proximity to consumers, Indiana is well-positioned to be a leader in ethanol production and usage. With 14 plants in the state, the ethanol industry is positively serving Indiana's economy and corn farmers.

Recent activities include ICMC's support of the USDA Biofuels Infrastructure Partnership. ICMC provided matching funds to the USDA grant program that will fund the addition of more than 100 Flex Fuel pumps at fuel retailers across the state. ICMC has also, in partnership with the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest, sponsored an E85 coupon program for owners of Flex Fuel Vehicles (FFVs) in La Porte, St. Joseph and Tippecanoe counties.
