Dr. Deb Backhus Recognized as Gary Legend

Dr. Deb Backhus of South Shore Clean Cities and Legacy Environmental Services, Inc. was recognized as a community leader in the areas of clean air, water and environmental protection. She was one of four honorees recognized by Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson as a Gary Legend. View Article

The Gary Legends program was developed by the City of Gary and the Social Media Development Group as a way to spotlight past and present Gary residents who have made a significant impact on the city through individual accomplishments, philanthropic acts, or simply making Gary a better place to live.

South Shore Clean Cities, Wisconsin Clean Cities and Legacy Environmental Services (A Sustainability Consulting firm that is contracted to manage both of these Clean Cities coalitions) congratulate Deb on her accomplishments inside and outside our organizations.
South Shore Clean Cities Goes to Washington

South Shore Clean Cities represented Indiana by attending the Transportation Energy Partnership Meeting held in Washington D.C. late February 2015. A variety of national trade associations that represent America's alternative fuel and vehicle industries signed a joint letter to the Senate and House Energy & Water Appropriations Subcommittees in support of funding the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Clean Cities Program. View Article

All responses are confidential. Your individual numbers will not be shared with anyone outside the South Shore Clean Cities staff. Any data shared will be aggregate data that reflects the entire coalition.
