No Idle Zones
During this cold snowy month, remember that leaving your car idled is not only wasting fuel and money but is also polluting the air. While your car is parked or sitting still, the engine produces air pollution. This pollution contributes to problems like smog and global warming, and is also harmful to our health. According to the U.S. Department of Energy idling can use a quarter to a half gallon of fuel per hour, depending on engine size and air conditioner (AC) use. Be sure to turn off your engine every time your vehicle is in park.
