Wintertime in the Finger Lakes is a quiet time of year, but it's not without plenty to do.  The area has many winter activities and all of them have the beautiful Finger Lakes or Lake Ontario as a backdrop.  The wine trails have events throughout the winter, cross country skiing and snow-shoeing are available at our county parks & trails and our cozy inns, B&Bs and full-service hotels provide perfect settings for sitting back and enjoying a glass of Finger Lakes wine or beer by the fireside.
The Cayuga County Office of Tourism Celebrates 20 Years
The Cayuga County Office of Tourism turned 20 in December!  Thank you to all of our tourism partners who help to make the tourism industry an important part of economic development in Cayuga County!  Visitors spend over $100 million in Cayuga County, with tourism providing $388 in tax relief per Cayuga County household and being responsible for 1,847 jobs.

Welcome to the Board!
Pattie Murphy, Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival, Brendan Grillo, Grillo Companies and Stephanie DeVito, Auburn Downtown BID all joined the Cayuga County Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors in January.  We look forward to their input and guidance as we work to further develop the tourism industry in Cayuga County.

Finger Lakes Sweet Treat Trail 2016
The award-winning Finger Lakes Sweet Treat Trail will hold its 2016 organizational meeting on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, 1:30 p.m. at the Plaza for the Arts in Auburn.  This is a mandatory meeting for all that want to be involved in the 2016 program.  The Finger Lakes Sweet Treat Trail promotes sweet items grown and/or produced from local products such as jams, jellies, honey, ice cream, cookies, pastries, fruits, maple syrup and fruit/dessert wines.  If you have not been involved in the past, but feel your business might be a good fit, contact the FL Sweet Treat Trail Coordinator, Susan Marteney, [email protected] for further details.  This is a paid participation program.
South Street Walking Tour Brochures Available
The new Historic South Street Walking Tour brochure gives both residents and visitors the opportunity to experience some of Auburn's history up close and personal while walking down South Street in Auburn.  From Greek Revival to Italianate to Federal, South Street has an amazing variety of architectural styles to see on this self-guided tour. Stop by the Tourism Office to pick up a supply for your guests and visitors.  This is a free, pet-friendly activity.

FREE Maps for Visitors
Even with the advent of GPS, visitors still love maps to lead them to Cayuga County's great places to stay, eat, shop and play.  We have developed new detailed maps of the County and City to help visitors to find their way around. The maps are free and are bound into pads, ideal for use at a front desk.  Stop by the Tourism Office to pick up a supply.

Distribute your brochure in Weedsport
The brochure rack we maintain at the Arby's/Tim Horton's in Weedsport continues to be a popular resource for visitors with 4,378 brochures being distributed during 2015.  If you would like us to include your hotel or attraction in the rack display in 2016, please deliver 100 brochures and your check in the amount of $50.00 ($100 for non-Cayuga County attractions/lodging) to the Cayuga County CVB, 131 Genesee Street, Auburn, NY  13021.  We will call you when we need additional brochures.  With postage rates continuing to rise, this is a very cost-effective way of distributing your brochure.

Snowmobile Maps available
With the first significant snowfall on the ground, snowmobile weather has arrived and the 2015-2016 Snowmobile Trail Map for Central New York and the Southern Tier is now available at the Cayuga County Office of Tourism.  The map features trails from Tug Hill to Lake Ontario to Whitney Point and everywhere in between.   Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, and Oswego County Trails are all included in this full color foldout map of the region. Send your snowmobiling visitors our way for this comprehensive map!  ($5.00 per map).
