Fall brings a gorgeous transformation to the Finger Lakes Region marked by the beauty of our spectacular fall foliage that paints our scenery with brilliant red, gold and orange hues. Harvest festivals are happening and leaf peepers are everywhere. It's a great season to welcome visitors to our area!

2015 Cayuga County Visitors Guide    

Work on the 2015 Visitors Guide to Cayuga County is well underway and due to the popularity of the 2014 guide we will be printing 80,000 guides in 2015 to be distributed at information centers, travel shows and in direct response to visitor inquiries. Once again we are offering enhanced listings to our shops and restaurants for only $100 per listing. Enhanced listings will include the name of the business, phone number, web site, days/hours of operation and a brief description. Space is limited and businesses must be open on a regular basis to qualify. The deadline for forms and payment is November 10, 2014. Email [email protected] to receive a sign-up form. Don't miss this very cost effective opportunity to get your business in front of 80,000 potential visitors!

 
Countywide Forum on Manure Runoff in our Watersheds to be held October 29th

Owasco Lake

A community discussion on manure and manure runoff in County watersheds will be held on  Wednesday, October 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cayuga Onondaga BOCES, 1879 West Genesee Street Rd., Auburn. The public will be able to comment on a possible local law or resolution to limit the spread of manure on frozen ground and the establishment of a buffer for manure application near ditches and waterways. As water quality is such a critical issue to local tourism, all tourism partners are encouraged to attend. If you would like to pre-register to speak at the forum, please email your name and address to [email protected]. County residents will be given three minutes to speak on the subject.

Cayuga Lake Scenic Byway news

Long Point Winery on Cayuga Lake Have you checked out the Cayuga Lake Scenic Byway website lately? www.cayugalake.com has been redesigned to be a 'one-stop-shop' for travelers planning a trip to Cayuga Lake and features attractions, lodging, shopping and dining along the byway. Advertising opportunities are now available starting at $30 per year for an expanded entry on the Byway Map up to $300 a year to become a featured partner (space limited!). Finger Lakes Culinary Bounty Networking Luncheon, December 8th 

The Finger Lakes Culinary Bounty will hold their annual networking luncheon on Monday, December 8 at Ventosa Vineyards in Geneva from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature a panel discussion "Local Flavor, Making it Farm to Table" and is a great opportunity to connect with others local food enthusiasts. You do not need  to be a member of Finger Lakes Culinary Bounty to attend. For more information and to register contact [email protected]

 

Christmas at the Ward O'Hara Agricultural Museum 

It's hard to believe that Christmas is just around thHoliday Traditions at Ward O'Hara Ag Museume corner, but it really is! The Ward O'Hara  Agricultural & Country Living Museum will be holding its Second Annual Festival of Trees from December 1-23, 2014 and is seeking community businesses, organizations, and individuals who are willing to decorate and donate a Christmas tree.
