Press Tours & Editorial Features
| |
|
One of the best ways to promote our county is with first hand visits by qualified journalists to our destination so they can experience first hand the great things to see and do in Cayuga County. The tours take a lot of time, money and planning but they usually result in great stories about Cayuga County that bring more visitors into our communities. In the past three months the Tourism Office has hosted writers from the Buffalo News, BBC.com, AAA Western & Central NY, a freelance outdoor writer, as well as staff from the Gateway Information Center on Route 81 South. We are looking forward to some great features on Cayuga County from these folks!
Recently, Cayuga County has received some significant media attention as a result of our public relations efforts with editorial features in newspapers, magazines, and online. Here are a few highlights:

"A Welcome Surprise"
| |
|
The Cayuga County Office of Tourism is once again participating in Visit Rochester's "A Welcome Surprise" promotion designed to encourage traffic from Canadian visitors during the fall and winter months. This $100,000+ marketing campaign includes online, radio, print and in-person events in the greater Toronto area. There are 1 million border crossings every year and we want to make sure that they don't pass through Cayuga County without stopping for a visit.
