    TONIGHT: FACES PARENT MEETING
 

 

Wednesday, January 28, 6-8pm

St. Luke's Community Health Education Center

  3333 Squalicum Parkway, Bellingham   

 

Families for Autistic Children's Education & Support (FACES) is a non-profit organization serving children and young adults with autism & their families in Whatcom County.

 

FACES provides a summer program with one-on-one instruction, therapeutic activities and community outings. We are looking forward to another fun, successful summer program for our youth. If you are interested in having your child participate in FACES this year, we need at least one (both if you can swing it) Parent/Guardian/Family Representative per FACES child at this mandatory meeting. This meeting is required in order to be eligible for the family participation tuition discount for 2015.

  AUTISM OUTREACH PROJECT

 

Upcoming Workshops Offered in Bellingham via Teleconference.

 

Educators, parents, early childhood providers, and community members are invited to learn valuable information and strategies; network with other professionals and family members; and share resources, advice, and support.

February 24th: Transition Planning for Students on the Autism Spectrum. Crystal Gray, Ph.D.

  ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY SEMINAR

 

Monday, February 2, 12:30-3:30pm

Bellingham Public Library

210 Central Ave, Bellingham

 

Samantha Murphy, a WATAP (Washington Assistive Technology Act Program) representative, will present information about assistive technology including:

  • What is assistive technology?
  • Information about the cost and use
  • Services provided by WATAP

 

This is an interactive seminar and assistive equipment will be available to try.

  "LET'S GO BOWLING" WITH NW WASHINGTON COMMUNITY OF THE DEAF

All are welcome to go bowling and meet new and old friends! Please arrive at 12:30pm for shoe rental. Cost: 2 games for $4, plus $2.50 for shoe rental.

A Special Needs Trust can allow individuals to enhance their quality of life through trust assets while retaining government benefits. There are several different Special Needs Trusts which can be created depending on the origin of the assets that may be used to fund the trust. Please join us for this informative workshop to learn more.
