THE ARC'S ASK THE ADVOCATE WORKSHOP

iPad 103: Communication & Assistive Technology

6-8pm, Tuesday, January 21

The Arc's Dan Godwin Community Center

2602 McLeod Road, Bellingham

 

ipadPresenters will include Missy Bartel and Amy McKinley. Missy is a speech therapist and owner of Connections SLP, a leading speech therapy clinic in Whatcom County since 2000. Amy is a parent of a child with developmental disabilities who uses his iPad for communication.

 

The focus of this workshop will be communication apps, as well as how to incorporate all assistive technology into school, work and home.

SECTION 8 HOUSING VOUCHER

The Bellingham Housing Authorities Section 8 voucher will be open for new pre-applications from January 17th through February 3rd, 2014. Applications may be picked up and turned in at the Bellingham/Whatcom County Housing Authority, located at 208 Unity Street.

Other locations for applications (only on specific days) are: may be picked up on specific days:

  • Lynden Senior Center (401 Grover Street, Lynden) on January 21st from 10am-12pm.
  • Ferndale Senior Center (1999 Cherry Street, Ferndale) on January 22nd from 10am-12pm.

Pre- applications for the Section 8 voucher can be returned in person to the Bellingham Housing Authority at 208 Unity Street January 21 - February 3rd from 10am to 4pm.

500 applications will be randomly selected for placement onto the Section 8 Waiting List. Please note that applications are no longer being processed by date of time of submission.
