Dear Friends, Clients, and Neighbors,

We have just been informed that a dog in Georgia has tested positive for canine influenza - and this dog had been in contact with other dogs in the metro Atlanta area.  Results as to whether this is the same strain that affected dogs in Chicago will be available Wednesday, May 20th.

We recognize that this news is concerning for all pet owners, and we will continue to keep you informed of any new developments.  At this time, high risk dogs (those that frequent doggie day care, parks, kennels or boarding facilities) may obtain some protection from the disease through vaccination. Please contact your veterinarian at The Village Vets for information and advice specific to your pet.  

If your dog exhibits a cough, nasal discharge, or lethargy, please contact your veterinarian.
