End of Life With Compassion
Dr. Kaleigh McVety shares her professional, as well as personal, experience on providing compassionate end of life pet care.

In Merriam-Webster's dictionary the word "pet" is defined as "a domesticated animal used for pleasure rather than utility". However, to the vast majority of my clients our pets are way more than this to us. They are family members that serve a purpose, even if it is just to snuggle with us at night or wag their tails frantically when we come home; because no one in the world is more special to them than us.

Seat Belt and Car Safety Tips for Pets
Dr. Janine Franco of TVV Decatur provides safety information on traveling with your pet in the car...

We all buckle-up for safety when riding in our cars, so why do we not do the same for our 4-legged family members?  A recent poll showed that less than 5% of dog owners restrain their dogs using a safety harness in the car.  This is not merely a hazard for your pet but also potentially for you the driver, your passengers, and even other motorists.

Client Communication Service Updated
In recent weeks you may have noticed some changes to the way we are communicating with our clients.  For one, we are now texting appointment confirmations.  And as before, we are emailing your pet's vaccine reminders; however, you are now able to click on a link in that same email to request an appointment.   During this time of introducing new communication tools, we have been transitioning away from the Pet Portal service - which will be ending August 31, 2014.

You can still go to our website and click on a link to request an appointment or any other service, as well as send a message to communicate with a team member, including your veterinarian.  Go to the www.thevillagevets.com home page.  In the right
column, click on your choice of TVV location and then the "Request Appointment" link (as pictured right). Remember, if your message is concerning a sick pet or an emergency, please call our hospital directly to speak with a member of our medical team - so that we can assist you immediately.

We feel this newest client communication service meets our high standards of excellent client and pet care.  Our goal is to improve your overall experience at The Village Vets - whether you are at our hospital or at home.
