Welcome Dr. Vrinda Nargund to TVV Buckhead
We are excited to welcome Dr. Nargund to our medical team at TVV Buckhead.  After graduating from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2003, she moved to Atlanta to do a fellowship at the CDC in the foodborne diseases division.  Dr. Nargund has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2004.  Her special interests are in nutrition, gastroenterology, and geriatrics.  Help us extend a warm welcome to Dr. Nargund!

Happy Independence Day America !!!
In celebration of our country's  independence, TVV Lilburn-St.Mtn. and Buckhead offices will be closed this Friday, July 4th.  Our Decatur office will also be closed for routine medical care - appointments, boarding drop-offs and pick-ups, but as we are for all holidays, TVV Decatur Emergency Services will be open 24/7.

Speaking of celebrating the Fourth of July. . .we would be remiss not to bring up the potential dangers that could affect your pet(s) during the celebrations.  Being aware that your pet could experience - an illness, an injury, getting lost, or experience intense anxiety - during the 4th of July celebrations is the first step in avoiding a painful event for you and your pet.

Southern Mutts Rescue Wagon
The Southern Mutts Rescue Wagon did it again!  On June 16th SMRW did their fourth transport of 72 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens from the Southeast to Colorado. They have now saved over 150 lives since their maiden voyage June 2013.  Follow the details of this last rescue journey and meet the newest residents of the Southern Mutts Ranch in Boulder, Colorado - who are now waiting to be adopted into their forever homes.  Several have already been adopted..YAY!

Sisters, Chamblee and Lindsay Abernethy, and natives of the Southeast, are  founders of SMRW.  (Chamblee was a TVV Decatur team member before she relocated).  They moved to northern Colorado in 2012 with a mission to transport homeless dogs and cats from the severely pet over-populated Southeast to the Boulder, Colorado area - where their chances of quick and successful adoption are increased dramatically.

Our own Dianna McAuley and Donnie Langley (on the left below) once again participated - in a big way - in this latest transport.  They were responsible for transporting 36 cats and kittens to Tupelo, MS where they met the rescue wagon before it turned around and headed back to the Southern Mutt's Ranch in Boulder.  Pictured with them are Leslie Curry of Southern Animal Rescue and Adair Connor, a rescue volunteer.

In This Issue

BRAVECTO™ is the first oral chew to deliver up to 12 full weeks of flea and tick protection for dogs (and puppies 6 months or older and weighing 4.4 lbs or greater) in a single dose. It starts working within 2 hours of giving the dose and reaches its maximum effect in 12 hours. It kills fleas, prevents flea infestations, and kills ticks for 12 weeks. Because it is an oral chew, washing, swimming, and grooming do not affect efficacy.

We carry this product at The Village Vets as well as our online store.
