We couldn't have done it without her.
This month, we celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Dr. Stacy Poulos Stacy, who joined The Village Vets on August 11, 2003. It was 9 days after she'd married Chad Stacy, a client of mine who suggested to his fiancee, who'd received her DVM from UGA that May, that she apply for a job with us (he was very impressed that I'd emailed him after the first visit with his puppy:). I will be forever indebted to him for sending her our way. A decade at your first vet job is a pretty big deal- it is not common in our profession. Stacy is a "Chipper Jones" in the veterinary world, if you will (baseball fans will get it).
When Stacy walked through the doors of our previous Decatur location on East Howard Avenue a decade ago, I was a solo practitioner who'd started the practice 2 years earlier. We had the good fortune of being busy; but I wasn't particularly looking for an associate. I admittedly wasn't as inviting as I could have been. However, Stacy proved very quickly that she belonged there- and started working that day. I had no idea that this energetic, new graduate would change our practice, and the lives of everyone around her. That small practice grew, and is now a 14 doctor, 24 hour hospital with over 70 team members- in a pretty nice, newer building on McDonough Street. People give me a lot of credit for building this place...but make no mistake. None of this would have been possible without Dr. Stacy Stacy on our team.

Stacy is an excellent, caring, and compassionate veterinarian. She is also a great business partner and leader whose direction at our Decatur office has ignited our growth and success. Her support has also allowed me the time to expand The Village Vets and make our dreams reality. Because of the dedication and leadership of Dr. Stacy, I have no doubt that many of the associates that follow her will also someday celebrate a decade with us.
We have had the privilege of witnessing Stacy and Chad as they build a lovely family (daughter Ella and son Ethan) in Oakhurst/Decatur. She is a great big sister to her three younger brothers- to this day she'd "go to the mat" for any one of them. She is a caring and supportive daughter. I am also proud to call her one of my dearest friends- she'd "go to the mat" for me, too. There are co-workers, and clients, who will claim the same.
Please join my wife and co-founder, Dr. Françoise Tyler, me, and our entire TVV family in congratulating Dr. Stacy Stacy- and thanking her for what she's brought to our practice, our families, our pets, and our lives. We love you, Stacy. Here's to another 10 years (and beyond).
