It is with a touch of sadness that I announce that our dear Dr. Brigit Villines is leaving The Village Vets, with Saturday, February 2, 2013 being her last official day. After almost 20 years of private practice, 8+ of which were spent with us, Dr. Brigit is pursuing a different path. She will be joining the team at Merial Veterinary Technical Solutions Department. We are all excited for her and the new venture, though very sorry to see her go. I met Dr. Brigit and her family in 2003 at the Atlanta Dog Jog in Piedmont Park. We hit it off instantly- so much so that I offered her a job within days of meeting her (I was a solo practitioner at that time). She thanked me- but unfortunately she had just accepted a position at another practice. I was disappointed, but we kept in touch regularly. Thankfully, after one year, she contacted me and we welcomed her to our Decatur practice. Dr. Stacy Stacy had joined me a few months before her, and the three of us started a beautiful team that has since grown to 13 veterinarians, over 60 support team members, and a 24 hour practice. Her commitment and dedication to her team, clients and patients are well above average- and always with a soft tone and a kind smile. Last year, she took on the daunting task of being our rescue medicine vet- a passion of hers that has been a blessing to the rescue community. Make no mistake- we are the the strongest small animal practice in the metro area in great part because of the hard work of Dr. Brigit Villines. She is irreplaceable. We love our Dr. Brigit. She will always be a part of The Village Vets family, and will still work with us from time to time helping with rescue surgeries and cases. If and when you see her, please wish her well. We will keep her email, drbrigit@thevillagevets.com, active indefinitely- so feel free to send her a message there. Thank you, Dr. Will Draper
