JULY 6-10 JULY 13-17 2015 ITALIAN LANGUAGE & CULTURE SUMMER CAMP
Dal 15 al 26 di giugno e dal 6 al 17 di luglio, dalle 9:30 di mattina alle 3:30 del pomeriggio, i ragazzi e bambini dai quattro ai sedici anni, avranno l'opportunita' d'imparare la lingua e la cultura italiana attraverso varie attivita' educative, informative e divertenti.
For four weeks this summer, children ages 4 to 16 can immerse themselves in the wonders of Italian language and culture through a wide range of enjoyable and educational activities on Casa Italia's beautiful grounds.
Children can choose from a variety of activities, including folk, modern and renaissance dance; social graces; genealogy; ethics; fencing; gardening; cooking and baking lessons; chess; soccer; bocce; volleyball; water activities; Italian table games;theatrical productions; and Olympic-style events in cooperation with CONI. JULY 7 @6pm "SIENA, CITY OF SECRETS" by Jane Tylus "Siena, City of Secrets" e' un intimo e avvincente ritratto di una citta' dai mille segreti, spesso trascurata dai viaggiatori stranieri. Tylus ci conduce a visitare la citta' condividendo la sua passione per Siena in una prosa da romanzo, senza mai perdere di vista le complesse vicende storiche che hanno fatto di Siena una delle citta' piu' belle e affascinanti d'Europa. "Siena, City of Secrets" (University of Chicago Press, 2015) is a compelling and intimate portrait of this most secretive of cities, often overlooked by travelers to Italy. As Tylus leads us through the city, she shares her passion for Siena in novelistic prose, while never losing sight of the historical complexities that have made Siena one of the most fascinating and beautiful towns in Europe. THE FEAST OF OUR LADY OF MT. CARMEL
Festivities culminate on July 12 with a 9 a.m. Mass in Italian at the Shrine, a procession to a noon field Mass and a second procession featuring traditional festa music. A street festival with live entertainment will run from July 9 to 12, and a Novena will run from July 3 to 11.Related events include the presentation of the banners at 7 p.m. on July 7 and the presentation of the roses at 6 p.m. on July 8.

Il 17 settembre si apre la stagione autunnale ad Insieme a Chicago! Insieme a Chicago offre classi in italiano per bambini di 1-12 anni (bilingui e altri livelli) e per adulti di tutti i livelli. I piccoli studenti di Insieme (1-5 anni) vengono immersi nella Lingua e Cultura italiane attraverso giochi, canzoni, poesie, filastrocche tradizionali e altre attivit� divertenti adatte all loro et�; mentre i pi� grandi (dai 6 anni in su) intraprendono un viaggio virtuale in Italia esplorando le sue regioni, citt�, tradizioni, usi e costumi.
On September 17th Insieme a Chicago launches their Fall season!
Insieme a Chicago offers classes in Italian to children age 1-12 years old (Bilingual and Mixed Level) and to adults at all levels. Insieme little students (1-5 years old) are immersed in the Italian Language and Culture through traditional games, songs, nursery rhymes and other fun age-appropriate activities; while our older one (6 and up) take a virtual trip through Italy exploring its regions, cities, traditions and fun facts.
