New 'Lakewood Home & Garden' program
$25 gift cards for the best home improvement ideas
Lakewood Home & Garden logoWe all want to keep our homes and gardens looking as good as we possibly can while fitting within our budget and our busy lives. That can be a challenge for any of us.

To help, the City of Lakewood is launching a new community education program called Lakewood Home & Garden (or LHG). In the months ahead, LHG will focus on subjects like creative ways to use planting areas, exterior painting ideas, and how getting permits and inspections can save homeowners from terrible problems down the road.

First, we'll share ideas on how Lakewood residents have preserved the beauty of their yards and landscaping, even while they met our city conservation goal of saving 20% during the drought.

Click here to send us some photos of your yard, and tell us how you saved 20% from your 2013 usage of water in your household or business while still keeping your yard looking good. If we publicize what you send and share your ideas in our educational effort, we'll send you a $25 gift card as a thank-you. Or call us at 562-866-9771, extension 2140 and we'll send you a form to fill out with the information.

As soon as we can, we'll start publicizing the best ideas we hear for maintaining a Lakewood Home & Garden. More
