"Water Wise Tips for Kids" is one of many environmentally-conscious videos featured on Lakewood Online and run daily on Lakewood's CityTV channel. This new segment covers what kids think about the drought and offers practical water-saving tips -- from washing full loads of laundry and dishes to showering smart.

The channel's "Water-wise & Environmental Videos" collection has nearly two dozen segments. Programs include the in-depth "300 Gallons" outlining how families can effectively cut their "water budget," to new segments on how to install modern water-saving sprinklers, use water rebates and free water-wise gardening workshops being held in Lakewood this month and in August. Keep Pets Safe!

Independence Day means lots of unusual noise and resulting agitation and fear for many animals. This can make July 5 the busiest day of the year for animal control professionals. Place identification on pets. DO NOT take your pet to a firework show or even a neighborhood gathering. They are safer at home. More
