GA Senators Join Resolution to Fight Back Against
Obama Admin's Overtime Rule
A Department of Labor overtime rule forcing business to provide overtime pay for certain salaried employees is expected to hit the retail industry particularly hard and job losses may result. That's why Georgia Senators Johnny Isakson and David Perdue are now joining an effort in the Senate that could block the mandate and prohibit the Obama Administration from issuing new, similar rules in the future without Congressional approval.
Senator Isakson, who chairs the Senate labor subcommittee, bashed the new regulation for stunting "economic growth and true recovery." According to Isakson, "This latest overtime pay regulation denies working families the opportunity to have flexible schedules or to work from home because it forces employers to track every hour they work, even if they're paid an annual salary."
