Dear , Summer is officially here . . . and the livin' is good! First and foremost, I am excited to announce the launch of our new website - same address, but other than that, it's all new! Tons of bells and whistles, great search features, and it's chock full of great information. We'll be enhancing and updating the new site on a regular basis, so keep an eye out as we continue to add new features and information.
Secondly, I have to confess that I have had a love affair with Adirondack chairs for decades and July is the perfect time of year to explore life in (and from) an old-fashioned Adirondack chair. There is just something about those chairs that call out to me, "it's summer, slow down, enjoy life. Sit here. Relax!" In fact one of my favorite quotes about summer is,
"Adirondack chairs are destination furniture, one-person resorts you put in your yard." - (Borrowed from the July 2009 issue of Yankee magazine) So, pull up an Adirondack chair and relax while you read the rest of the newsletter. And, as always, be well and stay in touch.

Delightfully Charming Landgrove Retreat
Are you looking for a completely private, turn-key get-away tucked into the Vermont hills . . . but with access to everything (skiing, an active and dynamic community, great schools, etc.)? Then this 3 BR/2BA classic post and beam country Cape is just right!
Lots of architectural interest with the timber-frame visible throughout the main level and a stunning back-to-back brick hearth with a fireplace in the living room and a wood pellet stove in the kitchen/dining area. Two bedrooms and a large bathroom with laundry are on the second level and an oversized two-car garage with mudroom entry complete the offering.
The long driveway passes through a beautiful copse of hardwood trees (image the color during foliage!) and your own natural pond to a beautiful open field with the one-and-a-half-story Cape Cod-style house, a large level lawn area and pretty perennial gardens.

Tuesday, July 19 Getting from Here to There: A History of Roads and Settlement in Vermont - The difficulties of traveling in Vermont played a significant role in the state's settlement, development, culture and politics. But Vermonters weren't always eager to have good roads. Opposition began in 1753, when the Abenaki joined forces with the French to protest the building of a British military road along an established Abenaki trail. Resistance to new roads has continued ever since, from the Green Mountain Parkway to the building of the interstates. Novelist Deborah Lee Luskin asks, given this opposition, how is it we now drive cars in all seasons, in all weathers, in all corners of the state? 7:30 Pm at the Odd Fellows Hall on Lake Street in Belmont village (Mount Holly).
