Dear ,
T. S. Eliot wrote that April is the cruelest month and he wasn't all wrong. Sure, the seasons are changing and life is a little slower than usual, but it is also one of the best times of year to rest, relax, recharge and refresh.
Mid-April usually brings about office and bar "pools" where everyone is betting on the day the snow banks finally disappear or the first daffodil appears. Several communities have "ice-out" contests to guess when local ponds and lakes are finally free of ice. This year, with such a mild winter, locals are busy raking their "driveways" off the lawn and putting them back where they should be. And, the first daffodil is just days away!
With the onset of summer just weeks away, I am actively soliciting new seller AND buyer clients. Please give me a call at (802)824-3176 if you are thinking about selling your property or are interested in receiving more information about real estate market conditions, active listings and recent transactions.
With warm regards for a great month,
 |

APRIL is the cruellest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.
Winter kept us warm, covering
Earth in forgetful snow, feeding
A little life with dried tubers.

Vermont is known for its beautiful roads and scenic byways and a large part of that appeal is the lack of billboards and roadside trash. The clean roadsides (and rivers, streams, parks, etc.) are often the result of hard work by thousands of
volunteers around the state who gather on the first Saturday in May to participate in Vermont's Green Up Day.
Established in 1970 by then Governor Deane Davis, Vermont became the first state to designate a day to clean up the roadsides and public spaces around the state. Green Up Day is now a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, funded by private businesses and individuals through charitable contributions as well as receiving grants and support from the State and individual towns.
Green Up Day trash bags are distributed throughout the state and are available in most towns about a week before Green Up Day. Click here to find the contact information for your town coordinator and to read the details of what is happening in your town. Volunteers usually gather in the morning for assignments or pick a section of a local road or other location that they will be responsible for picking up.

VAE's Basement Music Series presents The Wild Reeds -The Wild Reeds can be defined by one word: Harmony. However, the music is nearly indefinable. The sound from this LA based band fronted by Kinsey Lee, Mackenzie Howe and Sharon Silva dips in and out of multiple genres - some etherial folk, a hint of country twang and some rock and roll rhythm (from Nick Jones and Nick Phakpiseth), but it all comes back to the root of this band's power: the fact that Lee, Howe and Silva harmonize like triplets separated at birth. The Masonic Hall, 504 Main Street in Bennington. Doors open at 7 PM and show at 8 PM. Tickets, $18 in advance, $22 at the door. http://beta.brownpapertickets.com/event/2485910

VAE's Basement Music Series presents The Mike + Ruthy Band with opener duo Will Mosheim & Carling Berkhout - Americana stand-outs Mike + Ruthy play with jubilation-as exciting and powerful as any quintet out there, mixing up fiddle and banjo with drums, bass, pedal steel and organ. Their concerts dance from Americana ho-downs to sassy blues, Motown soul, old-timey harmonies, rock-n-roll energy and infectious, inspired songwriting. The Masonic Hall, 504 Main Street in Bennington. Doors open at 7 PM and show at 8 PM. Tickets, $18 in advance, $22 at the door. http://vtartxchange.org/event/the-mike-ruthy-band-with-opener-duo-will-mosheim-carlin-berkhout/
Sunday, May 1 Vermont Film Premier: Enough to Live On: The Arts of the WPA - The Mount Holly Town Library and the Book Nook will co-sponsor a screening of "Enough to Live On: The Arts of the WPA" at the Mount Holly School. Independent filmmakers Michael Maglaras and Terri Templeton of 217 Films will introduce the film and take questions following the screening. In May 1935, as part of the great return-to-work effort known as the Works Progress Administration, President Roosevelt returned Americans to work in the service of the rebuilding of a society staggering under the weight of the Great Depression. 4-7 PM at the Mount Holly School, 150 School Street in Mt. Holly. Call (802)257-3707 for more information.
