Dear ,
'Tis the season for merriment, family and fun!
I ask that during the holiday season and throughout the next year that you support LOCAL stores, restaurants and services. Your support and patronage matter. When you shop with local merchants, more of your money stays close to home - supporting schools, emergency services, recreation centers, theaters, libraries and the many other places that make this community such a great place to live. Live local, buy local!
I hope the information in this month's newsletter is informative. And, as always, thanks for your support, your friendship and your business!

Pick Out Your Christmas Tree in The National Forest
|
Did you know that you can cut your tree (legally!) in most national forests?
The U.S. Forest Service is once again offering $5 tree permits for people who would like to cut their Christmas trees in the Green Mountain National Forest. Permits are available at the U.S. Forest Service's ranger station in Manchester.
Here are the facts:
- Permit cost: $5, non-refundable.
- Only 1 permit issued per household per year.
- Permit must be attached to the tree before transporting it from the site where it was cut.
- Trees over 20 feet tall are not covered by the permit.
- The tree must be cut at a point no higher than 6 inches off the ground.
- Christmas trees are for personal use only and may not be cut for resale.
- Permit is not valid in wilderness areas, Timber Sale areas, developed campgrounds, picnic and day use areas, interpretive trails, or within 25 feet of any Forest Service or publicly-maintained road.
Permit information is available online at http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/greenmountain/passes-permits/forestproducts/?cid=fsbdev3_064925 or by visiting the Manchester Ranger Station at 2538 Depot Street in Manchester Center, (802)362-2307.

Centrally Located in Ski Country!
3542 Weston Andover Road, Andover
Located just a couple of miles outside of historic Weston village, this home was well-built and has been exceptionally well-maintained. The original two-bedroom ranch was built in the mid-1970s and a large addition featuring a beautiful Great Room (with wood stove) and a large lower-level workshop was completed in 1984. The former owner and his cabinet-maker son have left their artistic marks in the Great Room with its natural woodwork, hand-crafted wooden spiral staircase and hand-pegged oak floors. It's a bright, beautiful room - perfect for family gatherings. Weston (shops, summer theatre, galleries) is just minutes away, you can be in Chester in less than 15 minutes, and there are numerous ski areas within a 20-30-minute drive, including Okemo which is about 15-20 minutes away. The lot includes two open, sunny, level acres and there plenty of room for gardens and to enjoy a nice lawn.
