Wednesday Nights in Weston
Join friends and neighbors every Wednesday from February to June at The Inn at Weston for Neighbors Game Nights! Enjoy a delicious, inexpensive, game-night-only pub menu full of comfort food and weekly specials. A reservation costs $5 per person and all funds raised through reservations will be donated to a different local community organization each week. All patrons are entered into a free raffle to win their dinner that night and the winning trivia team's prize is free dessert! VERMONT CRAFTS - Open Studio Weekend is a statewide celebration of the visual arts and creative process, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to meet a wide variety of artists and craftspeople in their studios, some of which are only open to the public during this event. The self-guided tour features the work of glassblowers, jewelers, printmakers, potters, furniture makers, weavers, ironworkers, painters, sculptors, quilt makers and wood carvers. Many galleries will host gallery talks and feature special exhibits in conjunction with this event. The Vermont Crafts Council publishes a free map booklet with directions to participating sites. 15th Annual Roots On The River Festival in Bellows Falls - the annual Roots on the River Music Festival takes place in Bellows Falls, Vt. The festival is held throughout the town at a mix of venues: an old mill building at 33 Bridge St., informal locations around the Square, and under the big tent at the Everyday Inn. The Neolithic World of Stone: From Gobekli Tepe to Stonehenge. Art historian Bob Manning will examine two neolithic sites, Stonehenge, and Gobekli Tepe, which predates Stonehenge by 6,000 years. Sharing modern speculation as to their functions, Bob will focus on these "stone circles" as two distinctly different windows through which to view ancient humankind.
