Chapter Initiatives

The following are the prioritized initiatives of the IIBA® Seattle Chapter Board. Stay tuned for updates on progress!

  1. Reevaluate membership fee for possible reduction - DONE
  2. Develop student member / meeting rates - Affiliate and first timer policy applies
  3. Create first time visitors fee policy - Complete - see coupon below
  4. Develop corporate member / meeting rates
  5. Update and document member renewal process including board duties - In process
  6. Create a market outreach program to include presentations to interested groups - In process
  7. Study group with goals for certification & follow up - In process - Fall course completed 
  8. Determine feasibility for virtualizing meeting across state (go / no go only) - DONE No go at this time
  9. Conduct outreach to educational providers - In progress 
  10. Plan an open house for orgs/BAs/PMs/PMI - On hold for now

Exciting things are happening in the world of a Business Analyst, and especially within our chapter.  Workshops, Round Table discussions, and Elections are just a few of the prospects provided by the chapter for your benefit and growth.  Be sure to checkout the opportunities below and encourage one another in our chosen field.

Seattle Chapter Board Announcements
Be an active part in the leadership and development of your chapter. Interested candidates should be prepared to commit to attending a minimum of 8 board meetings per year, a half-day Board Retreat, monthly chapter meetings plus any required meetings for work on Board committees. Typical board commitment is 6-12 hours per month. Applicants must members of good standing in both IIBA and the Seattle Chapter. 

The following positions are open for your consideration:
 
Vice President of Programs
This position will recruit speakers and manage the logistics for our monthly meetings. Help us develop a high quality program for chapter membership.

Vice President of Education
Do you have ideas on how we can help more BA's achieve their CBAP or CCBA credential? We need you! Or perhaps you have a desire to lead other educational endeavors for our chapter. This is the position for you.

Secretary
For the organizer at heart! This position will lead administrative tasks from board meeting minutes to an exciting new project to help lead incorporation of our chapter as a non-profit organization. 

Vice President of Special Programs
This position will develop and manage special  projects to support the strategic goals of the chapter. Help lead the future growth of Business Analysts in Washington.

On May 28, 2013, as part of the Annual General Meeting (AGM), International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Seattle Chapter will be holding elections for the four open Board of Directors positions. IIBA is now accepting applications from individuals who would like to run for a Board position.  Applicants must members of good standing in both IIBA and the Seattle Chapter.

  • Your full name
  • Years of experience as a BA (title not important - tasks/responsibilities regardless of role. It's OK if little to none, but interested in learning/growing)
  • Experience with IIBA (again, OK if you are brand new to the IIBA)
  • Experience in leadership roles (work or other, including other professional organizations. As above, OK if none. You can indicate this is a development goal for you)
  • Why you want to be part of the board
  • Why this particular role interests you
  • Anything special you think you bring to this role
