Blue & Gold Placemats are available
What better way to promote Cub Scout Spring/Summer Camping Opportunities than to have a special placemat at your Blue and Gold banquet?
These 11x17 placemats advertise upcoming events: Cub-o-Rees, Day Camp and Webelos Resident Camp. If you are interested, call the Rowan Scout Resource Center at (609) 261-5850 and let us know how many you want and the date you need them. Placemats will be available at the District Roundtables.

Changes to Venturing/Sea Scout Applications
As of March 1, all new Venturing and Sea Scouting participants who are 18 but not yet 21 must complete an Adult Application and Criminal Background Check Disclosure/Authorization form. New youth and adult applications have created: Youth No. 524-406, and adult No. 524-501 and Spanish forms Youth No. 524-423 and adult No. 524-502 which can be download from http://www.scouting.org/forms.aspx. New applications have the number 115 on the bottom right corner. Paper applications will be available soon a the council offices.

Membership Grants - Deadline March 15
Does your unit have a great idea to boost membership, but doesn't have the funds to make it happen? We are looking for the most original, out of the box ideas to get families excited about Scouting, and ultimately enroll more youth in the Scouting program. Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded per unit. For more information go to www.gardenstatescouting.org/membership-grants.
Applications must be submitted by March 15 and units will be notified by April 1.

 Ten Commandments Hike - March 21 The wait is finally over! The 2015 Ten Commandment Hike will be held Saturday, March 21 in Blackwood, NJ. The Hike runs from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., and is open to all Scouts, families and friends. The Hike is a unique and exciting way for us to embrace all Faith communities, as well as to learn more about the history and uniqueness of each House of Worship, and the town of Blackwood. Open BB Shooting for Cub Scouts - March 21 (filled) & April 18 (slots available)
The Garden State Council Shooting Sports committee is hosting open shooting programs for Cub Scouts. These programs are conducted under the guidelines of the Boy Scouts of America and under appropriate supervision. Four 75-minute sessions are available and there is a max of 16 Cub Scouts per session. Parents are required to attend with their son. Cub Scouts can register individually or with their den/pack. Fee: $5 per person, per session.

Beaver Days 2015 - First Session March 28
Calling all Scouts, Scouting units and volunteers: We need you to join our Beaver Day project crew this spring. Come out and help us clean and spruce-up our camps. Groups and individuals are welcome. Scouts of all ages are encouraged to attend, projects will be age appropriate. If you are a tradesman and have a special skill please let us know. Lunch will be served. Here are the 2015 dates:
- Roosevelt Scout Reservation: March 28, 2015
- Pine Tree Education & Environmental Center: April 18, 2015
- Pine Hill Scout Reservation: May 16, 2015

BaySea District Pinewood Derby Championship Race - April 18
The 2015 BaySea District Pinewood Championship Race Hosted by West Cape May Pack 73 will be held Saturday, April 18, Cape May Convention Center, 714 Beach Ave Cape May. Car registration and inspection will begin at 11:30 and run to 1:30 p.m. Each pack will send one or more Adults with ALL the Pack's cars. Also bring tools for any car that fails inspection. The Pack registration fee is $25.00.

White Horse Fishing Derby - April 18
Attention all White Horse District Scouts, Scouters & Parents! White Horse District is busy making plans for our first ever Fishing Derby. The event will be run from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., April 18, Haddon Lake Park (known as Audubon Lake). The event is open to all Scouts and you are encouraged to bring a friend that is thinking about joining Scouting! Prizes will be awarded and lunch will be available!! Details and registration will be available soon.

 Quakesen District Camporee - April 24-26, 2015
The early registration deadline has been extended to March 30 for the Spring Camporee. Enjoy a weekend of "Olympian" activities and competition at Rancocas State Park. Merit Badge offerings (partials only) include: Conservation, First-Aid, Communications, and more. Fees: $18 per Scout, $10 per Adult ($5 late fee/person after March 30). National Jamboree 2017 - July 15-29
Attention all Garden State Scouts & Scouters! It just seems like we returned from a super experience at the first ever Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve, but 2017 is coming fast! We are already working to towards the second Jamboree and we'll have more information out soon! You will not want to miss this incredible Scouting experience with Scouts & Scouters from all across the USA! Save the date: July 15 through 29, 2017.

Community Service Opportunities
Three opportunities are available for Scouts to do a "Good Turn" in these White Horse District communities. Scouts from any district can participate.
- March 21 - Petty's Island, Pennsauken, NJ. This is your chance to visit an island in transformation and to make a difference. Help turn Petty's Island into a safe place for people and wildlife by removing trash and debris from the shoreline and woods.
- March 28 - Reverend Evers Park, Camden, NJ. Help community activists and area students clean-up this popular community park along the Newton Creek. Refreshments generously provided by PriceRite of Camden.
- April 11 - The Camden Neighborhood Center Religious Organization, Camden, NJ. Create a garden at the center that will feed the children in their daycare as well as the families that come for meals 7 days a week, and help supply their emergency pantry for community needs.
